Pet quality - $750 (for any color/pattern/gender) Show Potential - $1000 (for any color/pattern/gender) Breeder or show/breeder potential - $1200 and up; to be determined individually
ADOPTING A MAPLE LEAF RAGDOLL:
We are very selective in our breeding program. We breed for health; loving personalities; and large laid-back ragdoll kittens. We desire beautiful soft coats; gorgeous blue eyes; and we breed to CFA and TICA ragdoll standards. We do not have many litters in a year. Our wait list is on a "first come" basis following receipt of your deposit and signed contract. Normally the more specific you are on the gender, color, and pattern the longer you may have to be placed on the wait list. However, we promise that waiting for your perfect ragdoll baby is well worth the effort!
We assess kittens individually for adoption readiness. The babies will be allowed to go to their new homes at a minimum of 12 weeks; depending on the kitten(s) it may be longer as each kitten develops at its own pace. Normal expectations should be between 12-16 weeks of age.
PRICING/DEPOSIT: Our "pet" price for our beautiful ragdoll babies is a total of $750.00. A $150.00 non-refundable deposit will hold your dream pet ragdoll kitten. This deposit can be transferred to another kitten at my discretion. If you need to make monthly payments toward the purchase price, that can be arranged as well. Just be sure to discuss it with me and we will try to work out some arrangement. However, no payment arrangements can be made regarding the deposit.
A "pet" kitten is beautiful, healthy, and has the wonderful ragdoll personality. They are kittens that meet the TICA breed standard 100%. However, for example, they might have a cosmetic color mismark.
This $750.00 price includes their age appropriate vaccinations/de-wormings/health checkups done by our local vet. This fee also includes their early spay/neuter surgery and your deposit.
Our "show potential" ragdoll kittens will sell for a total of $1,000.00 depending on the kitten/cat.A non-refundable deposit of $300.00 is required to hold your show potential baby. This deposit can be transferred to another kitten at my discretion (for example a serious emergency arises). They have correct ear set, body, head conformation, and the pattern is as close to the TICA ideal as possible. This price includes the deposit, age appropriate vaccinations/de-wormings/health checkups done by our local vet.
This fee also includes their early spay/neuter prior to leaving our home and your initial deposit.
In the event purchaser wishes to have a "perfectly marked show potential" baby BUT does not plan on showing it - the purchaser will be requested to pay the higher show price of the kitten which is $1,000.00 and up and the kitten will be spayed/neutered prior to going to their new home.
Although the kitten is perfectly marked and meets the criteria to be shown in a TICA or CFA cat show, we can NOT promise the outcome of any cat show.
Breeder pricing starts at $1200 with deposits of $400 and is available upon request. We will only consider the sale of a breeder to established, professional ragdoll catteries.
*No kitten is reserved until the deposit/payment AND signed contract has been received.*Should you have questions regarding pricing or deposits, please feel free to ask!
The breeder ALWAYS has first option of keeping a kitten(s) from a litter to use in their breeding program. This does not occur very often.
I do reserve the right to refuse the sale and/or remove your name from our waiting list to anyone at any time should I determine the best interest of the animal is not being met by continuing the contract. Your deposit/payment would be returned to you. This very seldom occurs; however my job is to protect my animals and I take that job seriously.
QUESTIONNAIRE: Potential new owners should complete my questionnaire and speak with me personally on the phone PRIOR to sending your deposit. I look forward to getting to know you!
This questionnaire is found at the bottom of this page! By completing this, I get necessary information about you and your expectations regarding adoption of one of our babies and assists me in maintaining a file on kitten requests! It is very simple and quick to complete! Thank you!
PAYMENT OPTIONS:
We accept cash, money orders, bank cashiers checks, postal orders, or Western Union.
All kittens must be paid for in full at least two weeks PRIOR to their spay/neuter appointment. Final payment must be made in cash, money order, bank draft, or Western Union for guaranteed funds.
TO SEND PAYMENT TO ME THROUGH SNAIL-MAIL: Please note my address is not located anywhere on this website. Please understand my family's safety is my #1 concern!!!
I'm happy to provide my mailing address when we have spoken and agreed on my contract terms. Thank you for your understanding.
SPAY/NEUTER CLAUSE: ALL ragdoll kittens will be early spayed/neutered by our vet prior to going their new homes. They will have one full week post surgery prior to leaving my home. This works best for the kittens as the recovery time is much faster at this age, and any stress is minimized since their mother and littermates are still together. Kittens are normally playing the following day after the procedure - which is not true of older cats! By doing so, this will relieve you of the stress of finally receiving and bonding with your new baby and NOT having to separate for the spay/neuter procedure.
HEALTH/GENETIC GUARANTEE: Maple Leaf Ragdolls has a one year genetic health guarantee. We are also proud of our four year HCM health guarantee. Once you have taken possession of the kitten you will need to take him/her to your own vet for a checkup within 24 hours for the one year health guarantee to be valid.
Testing to ensure the health of our breeders is important to me - it costs thousands of dollars a year to provide the testing but it is certainly worth it. All our ragdolls are HCM scanned yearly and/or DNA tested in order to provide you with this guarantee. ***All of our breeders are HCM scanned negative and/or DNA tested @ PRIOR to breeding - this is the correct and ethical standard for breeding*** For additional information on HCM, please see our link to Ragdoll HCM Research on the "Favorite Links" page.
NO DECLAW CLAUSE: We have a "NO DECLAW" clause in our contract. The kittens have had their claws trimmed since babies and are used to the process before you bring them home. Ragdolls are so docile and laid back - they have no idea how to defend themselves. Please see more information on this topic on the on my "Ragdoll Breed" web page.
It is highly suggested once the kitten(s) arrives at their forever homes they have a sturdy scratching post and/or cat tree with sisal roping to use, as they have been trained with one since a baby. It is cheaper to purchase a scratching post than replace your furniture and is less stressful!!!
We also suggest trimming their nails as needed. By doing this the kitten will get used to it in no time! When you come to pick up your kitty, I'm more than happy to show you how to do it yourself.
NO OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES: Ragdolls are NEVER to be outdoors for any reason. Ragdolls do not have the defensive behaviors necessary to take care of themselves!
VACCINATIONS, ETC.: We do not try to save money by vaccinating our own kittens. Some breeders will try to tell you this is an "inconvenience" having to take kittens to a vet for routine shots - my opinion is very different. There are health risks for routine shots that the "hobby breeder" would never be trained for. We prefer to leave all necessary medical procedures up to the professionals!!!
All babies are seen by our own vet at least twice prior to leaving our home. This reassures me, as well as you, of the health condition of your new baby. When you pick up your baby to take them home you will be receiving all pertinent medical records from our veterinarian!
SHIPPING: We are happy to work with new families from the Central U.S. (including Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and others), as well as the entire U.S. and worldwide.
We happily ship to approved homes worldwide! Shipping costs are 100% the purchaser's responsibility. All shipping costs must be paid according to the final payment requirements noted above. There are mandated costs involved for airline regulation paperwork, carriers, etc, that will be passed along to the buyer. These costs must be paid according to the final payment requirements noted above.
***FINAL SHIPPING COSTS WILL NOT BE KNOWN UNTIL A SPECIFIC DATE HAS BEEN AGREED UPON AND FLIGHT ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE.***ALL decisions for transportation and payment for ALL fees must be made at least two weeks in advance of the neuter/spay in guaranteed funds only.
We will ship ONLY on "pet friendly" airlines. Our concern and responsibility lies totally in the best interest of the kitten! Please note: Shipping depends on weather conditions and is 100% my final decision! Certainly we will make all attempts to work with your schedule as well; but due to the weather here in the south we must all be flexible regarding air shipping in the best interests of the kitten.
We ship from the Oklahoma City International Airport and it is only 20 minutes from our home!!!
*THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE TO AIRLINES FOR SHIPPING OF A KITTEN!!!* We are pleased to personally recommend LNT Pet Transport - a licensed company that will pick your kitten up at my door and deliver them to yours!!! Please check out their website (yes they do transport kittens) at www.lntpettransport.com. We have used them ourselves (due to the weather) for one of our new breeders!
Depending on your location and situation, we may be able to deliver your kitten to you personally, or even meet you halfway! Feel free to discuss your situation with me!
VISITATION:
New families may visit their babies by appointment only and are allowed one visit following the kittens' first set of vaccinations (around 8 wks. of age).
We are happy to work with families with young children; however rules are in place for visitation time while in my home.
For example, if we have multiple litters on the ground some kittens would be vaccinated and some would not; therefore, each visitation request will be decided by me and what is best for ALL babies.
No one may visit our home if they have been to another cattery the same day - NO EXCEPTIONS.
We will attempt to place updated photos of the babies on our kitten page, along with information regarding their personalities! We want our new families to feel involved in their precious kitten's early stages of life.
FINALLY: A new ragdoll kitten is an investment (both financially and emotionally) for you and your family for many years to come. When purchasing a ragdoll kitten please consider purchasing only from a reputable breeder who: 1) owns their own breeders (this can be checked out through TICA/CFA); 2) takes breeding seriously and researches each cat's pedigree (prevents health issues); 3) provides necessary health screenings (required to back up a health guarantee); and 4) has a closed cattery (does not provide stud service in their cattery).
THANK YOU!!! We will be here for you for years to come once you purchase one of our babies. We hope to share in their lives and hear back from each one of you!
